Baby Lawhorn {Week 37}

Want to know more about Baby Lawhorn?
Check out the Our Baby page!

How far along?: 37w1d - only 3 weeks (or LESS) to go!
How big is baby?: the size of a WATERMELON people!! around 19-21in and ~6-7 lbs.
Weight gain/loss?: +25-27 lbs
Stretch marks?: I found two! Ahhh!! (oh well, not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things)
Maternity clothes?: My maternity pants are feeling pretty tight, so I've been rockin' the gaucho skirts like they're going out of style. Or maybe they are out of style... I don't know.
Sleep?: My biggest area of struggle right now. I know it will continue to be tough for me to not get a full night's sleep, as I prepare for baby boy and once he gets here.
Food cravings?: Smoothies, milkshakes, fruit... the fruit makes up for the bad stuff, right?
Gender?: Sweet baby BOY!
Movement?: His little movements feel more and more like jabs and punches since he's getting too big for his space.
Belly button?: Pretty "out there" but I suppose it's gonna get worse...
What do you miss?: There is NOTHING that I miss that could possibly compare to the excitement of having our little guy.
What are you looking forward to this week?: (I don't know if you had a chance to look back at last week's update, but you should!) I have another appointment Wednesday and maybe we'll have a better idea of when Mr. Mister is coming!

Did you see the Nursery yet?! I LOOOOOVE it!!! :)

Pennant Flag Project

Remember when I said I had one more little "adornment" after we put up the curtains in the nursery? I had seen several pennant/flags in kids rooms across the blogosphere (like this one!) and thought it would be so cute to add to Baby Boy's room.

I found several different fabrics in colors similar to his bedding, then using a pennant shape pattern I cut out the fabric with (Emily's) pinking shears.

(Contrary to the picture, Snooker did not help with this process. Though I'm sure you are completely capable, sweet girl.)

Once I had cut 3 pennants from each of my 5 fabrics, I laid them out on the floor in a pattern where the birdie fabric and the elephant fabric wouldn't be next to each other.

Then I ironed each flag and basically just wrapped the top part around the cording and used fabric glue to glue it to itself. Note that NO ACTUAL SEWING happened for this project. :)

After 24 hours (to let the glue dry) it was ready to hang in Baby Boy's room!!

I love the way it turned out and how it coordinates with the bedding without matching. And I'm so glad that I actually tried to do it, rather than just saying "Oh, that's a cute idea" and never thinking I could do it myself. :)

What do you think? Have you done any DIY projects lately?

Nursery - The Reveal!

Well, my friends, it's time for our nursery reveal! I am so so happy with it - it makes me smile EVERY time I go in there. :)

For a refresher, here's my post on our plans for the nursery

Before as the "clean slate"...

And here's the AFTER!
Our beautiful crib, the fabulously comfortable glider, his adorable bedding... it all came together! And see the painting above the glider? My incredibly talented Mommy painted it for Baby Boy!

On this side, a Target bookshelf (for half the price from Lila's), filled with tons of books from our showers (1, 2, 3), a cute hanging peg board that Mom painted, and a hand-stitched poem of "Little Boy Blue" that Patricia made for Jason when he was born!

I'm still not done with the wall above the changing table, but I wanted to go ahead and show you anyway! :)

Come on, little one - your room is ready for you!

Weight gain/loss?: +25 lbs
Stretch marks?: None that I've noticed.
Maternity clothes?: All the time, though my maternity pants are even starting to get tight!
Sleep?: Worse and worse... I'm either uncomfortable or I have to pee. Or both.
Food cravings?: Any and all food I can get my hands on. I guess I need to get it out of my system now while it's okay to still be gaining weight...
Gender?: Sweet baby BOY!
Movement?: Mr. Squirmerton still squirms! :)
Belly button?: Pretty "out there" but I suppose it's gonna get worse...
What do you miss?: There is NOTHING that I miss that could possibly compare to the excitement of having our little guy.
What are you looking forward to this week?: Tomorrow we have our 36wk ultrasound!! I can't wait to see our little guy again!!
Edited to add: We had our ultrasound today! We weren't able to see little guys face, which was sad, but it's good because he's dropped and is "in position"! He weighs 6lbs 9oz and is measuring a little early! Also - he has TONS of hair!!! :)

Porch Birdies

A birdie family made a house on our front porch light. It's only 6 inches or so below the porch overhang, so the only way to see what was inside was to use my video camera! I knew there were eggs in there, but I just wanted to see how many - FIVE! So fun!

Dad, Mom, Nick, Sam, Vanessa, Mamaw, Steve, Holly, Matt, Natalie, Jason, Dash, Me & Baby Boy were all there. :)

Mr. Dash isn't allowed to be by the pool without his lifejacket on.

Homemade ice cream!!

It was so much fun!! :)
