Pizza Date

Last Friday night, Jason and I decided to venture out and find somewhere we hadn't been for dinner. We ended up downtown at Hill City Pizza.

We got a BBQ Chicken pizza that was really yummy!

Sorry for the mid-bite shot, honey. :)

I would complain about how J took a blurry picture, but if the picture were clearer, you would see how ginormous my nose looks. Oh, poor Baby Lawhorn - I hope you don't end up with mommy's nose. Or maybe I just perceive my nose as being ginormous since my sense of smell is so over the top right now.

Did I tell you that I accidentally bought "Mountain Spring" scented laundry detergent instead of "Clean Breeze"? Well, it was a monumental mistake. My clothes smell like a lumber-jack. And I can smell them all. the. time.Yeesh...

And my pizza date post ends with a lumber-jack. Hope you are having a safe and wonderful Thursday! :)

I Wuv Fwuit

(If you didn't get a chance to read my post from yesterday, please do.)

I wewwy wuv fwuit.

Jason and I could both eat fruit everyday, if I wasn't so lazy about buying it and cutting it up. NO MORE! I am trying to be good about my goals of "planning our meals" & "only going to the grocery store once/wk", and that includes getting fruit for us to munch on during the week.

But, I'm always afraid of buying "bad" fruit. Like... my grapes today? They were seriously sour. One sweet grape for every 15 you eat. But oh, the cantelope. Mmmmmm... so sweet, so juicy, and oh so good! So I suffered through 5-6 grapes for every 2 pieces of cantelope.

And cantelopes can be intimidating too, because you really don't know what's going to be inside! Is it going to be overly-ripe and grainy, not ripe enough and hard, or perfection like today.

Another fruit I want to try to start buying but I'm afraid of is pears. When we were at Grandmother & Granddaddy Lawhorn's house over the break, granddaddy cut up a Harry & David's pear for me and I was in HEAVEN!!! I have never had such a wonderful pear. So now I know I really like them, but I'm scared to buy one at the store. Woe is me.

Anyway... not that you care about my fruit eating habits.

Hope your Wednesday is wonderful!!

Prayers for Matt

My wonderful friend Becca and her (just as wonderful) boyfriend Matt are dealing with some really hard issues right now. Rather than explain details, I just ask that you stop whatever you are doing right this moment and ask God to intervene in this situation. He knows all that is going on, everything that is in their hearts.

Please, please pray for Matt, Becca, Matt's family & friends.

God is Jehovah-rapha: the God who heals.

Snow Day 1/11

Another BEAUTIFUL snow day here at our house! (5-6 inches?!)

Dash never knows what to think about snow, and this is definitely the most snow we've ever had! He usually goes down these front steps and easily jumps up into the yard to go potty. However... today, things were looking a little higher than usual. So it took daddy doing a little toss to get him going. :)

They trudged through, but Dash still wasn't convinced that this was fun.

I think this photo tells it all. Hehe! :)

Snooker was crying at the door, so Jason said, well let's just see...

This "indoor only" kitty did not know what to think. Right after this picture he picked her up and she curled up in his jacket. I don't think she'll be crying about wanting to go out anymore!
FUN SNOW DAY!!

Me and V at a Par-T

Saturday night, Jason and I headed to Niko's for a going away party for one of my co-workers. We had a great time chatting and eating delicious food, but I was EXTRA excited because Sam is also friends with the co-worker, so he and Vanessa were there too!
Love this friend!! :)

Christmas with the Cox's

Yup, I said Christmas! :) We had one last Christmas get-together with Jason's mom's side of the family.
Here's Hunter and Elizabeth,

Grandmother & Granddaddy Cox,
(isn't this the cutest picture!?)

and Bonnie & Ben, Patricia, and Cindy.

We had a yummy lunch, opened fabulous presents, and then talked Bob, Cindy, Ben, and Bonnie into playing Jessica's Kinect!

Haha, sorry Bob - couldn't help myself. I had to post this picture. :)

We had a great time (and now Christmas is OVER until next year)!!

Sanity and Smiles: January

January 2011
Things that make me SANE:
  • take down Christmas
  • save up coupons all month to be able to use them on a big shopping trip
  • find a bench for our entry (and hang our mirror above it)
Things that make me SMILE:
See, now doesn't that just feel so much more doable?
