Been MIA, Goin' MIA

I'm taking my sweetheart on a little surprise trip this weekend!!
And he doesn't know about it (hence the word surprise).

I'm SUPER excited about our little getaway,
and hope that it satisfies the frequent cry of
"I CAN'T WAIT FOR VACATION"
(which happens to not be until August).

Talk to you Sunday! :)

We Made the Switch

After little debate, we decided to make the switch from Comcast to EPB for our TV and internet. We have been having really annoying internet problems lately where it would cut out for 2-3 minutes, then come back on for 5, then out again, then back on. You could never get anything done online because by the time you got yourself back together from the last time it went out, it would go out again!

Finally we decided enough was enough and last Friday we became the proud new owners of this sign:

The biggest difference is how the TV stuff it layed out. Here's what the full "guide" looks like:

It will definitely take some getting used to. Something cool (and totally unnecessary, but cool nonetheless) is that there is a picture in picture in the bottom left hand that shows you what is on right now on whatever channel you're looking at on the guide. Pretty sweet, huh?

Only time will tell if EPB > Comcast, but for now, we are just grateful to have CONSISTENT INTERNET ACCESS!!!!!!!!

The end.

Nick at Night: Part 1

Last night, Nick spent the night with us! We had such a great time, I'm going to have to break it up into two posts! :)

We decided to go to Cici's Pizza for dinner... mmmmmm. $3.99 buffet is so totally worth it.

So when we got home and got settled, I declared that we were making brownies! Dude was excited. This is his excited face.

Obligatory ingredients picture:

Hellooooooo gorgeous. Oh yeah, we didn't just make any old brownies, we made these brownies.

Okay, let's be a little honest here. I made the brownies.

They did this:

Boys and their shoot-em-up video games... :)

Then we watched THIS because I finished THIS.
Mr. "let's stay up past midnight" fell asleep about 30 minutes into this 3 hour movie. It's okay bud, 1 o'clock was way too late for us too...

Stay tuned for day two! :)

Pedometer Improvements

Hello friends! Last week I told you about my mission of increasing my steps each day, using my iPod's built in pedometer to monitor my daily activity. I started out averaging about 2,500 steps each day (25% of what you are supposed to do, just FYI) so let's see how week #2 turned out when my goal was to average 3,000 steps.

Total Steps by Day
Friday: 3,578 steps
Saturday: 2,479 steps
Sunday: 2,765 steps
Monday: 2,365 steps
Tuesday: 3,513 steps
Wednesday: 1,701 steps (whoops...)
Thursday: 3,980 steps (whoo hoo!)

Total Average Steps for Week 2: 2,912 steps

Not too bad for my first week of increases and pretty close to the original goal! :) Now, of course I would rather have had more 3,000 step days instead of fluctuating as much as I did, but it's a start, right?
Week 1: 2,500
Week 2: 3,000
Week 3: 3,500
Week 4: 4,000

Anyone else have fitness goals they are working to achieve?

Lunch and Dinner

On Saturday night, Jason and I decided to go to Carrabbas for dinner. We walked in (45 minute wait, of course) and ran into (Jason's cousin) Paula and Scott! We chit-chatted while we were waiting to be seated, and then when their name was called they asked if we wanted to join them, so of course we did! We had a great time with them! Paula is such an amazing Christian woman, and the Lord comes up in most any conversation you have with her. We love them so much!!

Yesterday I got to eat lunch with Emily at Mr. T's! It had been too long since our last lunch, and I'm so glad we could fit it in! She helped me dream-remodel our kitchen and we talked about everything else under the sun. I'm truly thankful for friends like Emily, that I can go for weeks at a time without seeing, but we can always pick back up where we left off. :)
