Hangin' with Granny

I updated the Our Travels page at the top of the blog, to include all our fun summer antics. We love to travel and we definitely got our share in this summer. Check it out!

Mom & Nick were on Fall Break this week, and Dad took the week off too, so we went down to see Granny on Tuesday! Jack was a busy bee the whole time we were there. :)
walking around with Granny

On our way back home, we stopped at the outlet mall, and Jack racked up some new fall duds (not this hat though, even though it was cute).

Then someone was restless in the stores, so Mimi took him out to the cool cars!

It was a fun day!

Baby #2 - {18 weeks}

How far along?: 18w {18 weeks w/Jack}
How big is baby?: The size of a sweet potato.
Weight gain/loss?: About +3 lbs? I truly feel like I have POPPED in the last 2 days.
Stretch marks?: No new ones.
Maternity clothes?: Not yet, just using a rubber band to make my jeans bigger.
Sleep?: Sleeping pretty well even w/a 15 mo. old!
Food cravings?: Loving hot tea in the mornings. And the afternoons.
Gender?: We will hopefully find out in a week!!! Right now, Jason and I both feel like the baby is a boy, a little brother for Jack-Jack! But of course, I could be totally surprised with ribbons and bows. :)
Movement?: Yes! Anytime I'm settled down, I can feel the little thumps! So fun!!
Belly button?: Definitely have a 2nd baby belly button!
What do you miss?: As I said last week, I've been feeling a little yucky the past week or so - headaches, stomach issues... I don't know if it's completely pregnancy related or not, but I do miss feeling good.
What are you looking forward to this week?: Feeling more movement, and hopefully finding out the gender!

Too cute not to share. This is a perfect example of most days - puppy boy and baby boy hanging out at my feet.

Hodge Podge and a Snuggle Bug

On Saturday, Mom, Mamaw, Jack & I went to Hodge Podge (a local craft fair) together!

It was REEEEEEALLY cold and poor Jack didn't have any warm weather clothes - EXCEPT, our sweet friends Ryan and Evelyn had just gotten him this adorable one piece sweatshirt/suit. It was 18 months so I thought it would drown him, but it was perfect and PRECIOUS!!! So stinkin' cute.

Jack was quite the snuggle-bug while we were there. I caught this great shot of him snuggling on Mamaw. :)

Then our friends Hugh, Alison, and Ethan gave us a couple donuts and Jack was all over that. Haha! I've been calling him my little vulture lately. If you have food, he says "a bite! a bite! a bite! a bite!" over and over until you give him some! Little stinker!

Then we went back over to Mom's for a bit and Jack played on the piano - he loves that thing!

It was such a fun day!

God Planned a Double Date

Last Friday, God planned a double-date for us! We just so happened to be at Taco Mamacita and so did Sam and Vanessa!! We had a yummy dinner then walked around in Coolidge, and ended the night at Clumpies. What a fun night!!

And Jack called Sam "Ahm" and Nessa "Neh-nah"! So sweet!!

Wok Wok Wok

Last Tuesday (Oct. 2nd) we saw Jack take his first set of MULTIPLE steps! He walked 5 steps Tuesday and then 5 steps on Wednesday. It's happened a few times since then, but nothing consistent yet. He's getting really good about standing up on his own in the middle of the room and just standing there forever. His balance is getting much better!

Anyway, I finally caught him on video! He doesn't like to walk TO you or when you ask him to, so this is quite the feat (to get it on video). The actual walking starts around 1 minute.
Oh, to explain the title, he likes to say "walk walk walk" when he's taking steps, but it sounds more like "wok wok wok". :)

Baby #2 - {17 weeks}

How far along?: 17w {17 weeks w/Jack}
How big is baby?: The size of an onion.
Weight gain/loss?: About +2-3 lbs?
Stretch marks?: No new ones.
Maternity clothes?: Not yet, just using a rubber band to make my jeans bigger.
Sleep?: Sleeping pretty well even w/a 15 mo. old!
Food cravings?: Mostly healthier foods, so that's good.
Gender?: We will hopefully find out in 2 weeks!!! Right now, Jason and I both feel like the baby is a boy, a little brother for Jack-Jack! But of course, I could be totally surprised with ribbons and bows. :)
Movement?: I'm writing this a little late, but I felt movement for the first time today on Friday, Oct. 5th! Two little kicks from baby on our way to Taco Mamacita. Yay!!
Belly button?: Ewww... I try not to look at it. ;) It was close to being normal again, but not so much anymore!
What do you miss?: I've been feeling a little yucky the past week or so - headaches, stomach issues... I don't know if it's completely pregnancy related or not, but I do miss feeling good. (Although one of my sweet pregnant friends has been having the most horrendous migraines every day for weeks now, so I AM feeling blessed in many respects. Please say a quick prayer for her that they can help her manage the pain.)
What are you looking forward to this week?: I'm looking forward to feeling more movement!

October Goals

Last month's goals were focused a lot around revamping my wardrobe, and I'm definitely glad I got that area of my life more organized so that the every day task of picking out clothes is easier! This month, God has really put it on my heart to put more thought into what we're eating each day. Now, we are not going CRAZY around here and tossing out all the junk (yet), but I'm trying to make better decisions at the grocery store, so that our meals together are healthier.

Luckily, several of my closest friends have had the same desires placed in their hearts (and my hubby's on board!), so I'm not doing this alone. And luckily for me, Jason and Jack will both eat ANYTHING, so I'm definitely the pickiest one in the group. :) (One of my fervent prayers over the last week has been that God would change my taste buds so that I would like some of the healthy foods that I'm not currently crazy about - He cares about this stuff!!)

Last weekend Jason and I went to a Crown Financial Seminar at our church that helped us get our monthly budget back on track. We did a Dave Ramsey class before we got married and have been pretty good about staying on track all this time, but over the summer our budget kind of got away from us, so it was time to buckle down again So not only do I want to eat healthier, I want to do it on a strict budget!

Okay, enough chit-chat - here are my goals:

HEALTHY:
*Try to have at least 1 fresh veggie every night w/dinner
*Eat less junk :)
*Make a solid attempt at homemade bread!
*Stick to food budget

BABY:
*Take weekly belly photos
*HOPEFULLY find out if Baby #2 is a boy or a girl!!! (We don't have the best track record with this, but we'll see!)
