Skinny Bottom Jeans & Boots With No Fur

{My "clever" title makes me think of E.Nagle}

In an attempt to bring my fall wardrobe into the year 2010, I went on a quest for boots last night. After trying on several pairs at a few other shoe stores {and not finding anything I liked}, I went to DSW and also didn't find anything I liked...

So I was walking from the back clearance section to the doors to leave when I passed THESE boots!
I really liked them, but wasn't completely sure, so of course, I texted the picture to Cara to see what she thought. She said "YES get them, but now you need 'skinny jeans' to go with them."

Ehhhhh... homie don't do skinny jeans.
I've spent my whole life trying to make my stick-legs not look skinny, thankyouverymuch.

But alas, I found myself at Old Navy, trying on said skinny jeans. I took a picture in those and sent that to Cara too, but I will spare you {and my pride} that picture.

In my picture text to her I said "OMGoodness, they are NOT kidding about the skinny part! Are they SUPPOSED to look like LEGGINGS?"
Then I asked the Old Navy Dressing Room Attendant Girl if I needed to get the next size up and she said "No, girl - they look great!" Alright people... flattery does go a long way with me...

So I've talked myself into it, and I'm at the register, willing to pay the cheap price of $30 for the jeans, and they ring up $16!!!!!!!!!! Okay, for real. I'm definitely getting them now. Even though I already was.

It was a good shopping night.

Anyone else ever tried something on that was "in fashion" but then totally second guessed yourself about it?

31 Days to a Better Photo!

If you've been wanting to learn more about what your camera is capable of, and appreciate explanations for the normal human being, then this is the series for you too!

So far I've just been reading through her posts, but have saved them so I can refer back to them when I actually have my camera close and can practice.

I'll let you know how it goes!

P.S.  I {finally} updated my favorite blog links on the left side of the blog. I have so many awesome friends with blogs!! You should check them out! And I added another section to link you to some of  the other blogs I read a lot!

Dress Quest

First of all - I am SO EXCITED that Hunter and Elizabeth
are getting married TOMORROW!!!!!!!!

Second of all - I realized that I didn't have a dress to wear to the ceremony. So off to Belk I went {with a leftover wedding giftcard} to see what I could find.

I'm a terrible shopper.

Ask my mom.

Ask Cara.

Ask anyone who's ever gone clothes shopping with me.

I get so easily discouraged and then just want to go home. This already happened on Tuesday when I went to the Belk store closer to my house. I found 3 dresses to try on, took pictures in them to send to Cara, then left with nothing because I didn't like any of them.

Take two.

At the Belk that's farther away, there's supposedly a better selection, so I trudged in with high hopes of finding something. I found four dresses I liked off the rack, and took pictures to send to Cara, to get her opinion, of course! And I did leave with one!

So here are the dresses {I found 2 of them online and linked them}
and what I said to her in my texts:

My head has been chopped off for my own protection.

Top left: "Yes, Sarah, it does look like animal print. Or an 80s spandex get-up."
Top right: "Ruffle-y flower things at the top"
Bottom left: "Stripey ribbon looking skirt"
Bottom right: "Looks and feels like a slip. Cute, but maybe not for this..."

Which one do you like best?
And which one do you think I picked? :)

Feelin' Less Like A Couch

So I'm still running.

Well, let me rephrase that - I'm still jogging.

I first mentioned this "Couch to 5K thing I'm attempting" here. And then, when I could have pretended like it never happened, I went and put it on my October Goals list for the world to see... and hold me accountable too. {Plus there's the fact that I already paid registration fee for the race... that too.}

I am happy to report that I am feeling less like a couch with every passing day. {Not feelin' like a 5K yet, though - don't get crazy.}

When I'm running jogging I have been listening to Pandora on my phone - Francesca Battistelli radio, to be exact. But today, since I'm on week 2 of the "training" and I have to run for 90 seconds at a time instead of 60 seconds, I decided I needed to get "pumped up". And changed it to my old Beyonce radio station. Because she can seriously pump you up.

So I listen to "Put A Ring On It" and ran my little heart out, but then as other songs came on, I realized that I can't hear without listening. I want to say that I can just pay attention to the music, but I can't. I hear crude comments and suggestive innuendos and I don't want that going in my ears.

Back to my trusty station.
I can rock out to Mercy Me, Meredith Andrews, and Casting Crowns.

My heart is happy. And quite pooped.
