My Second "Fix" - Stitch Fix Review UPDATE

Hey friends! Okay, so yesterday when I posted about my Second "Fix" from Stitch Fix, I asked for your advice to help me pick what to keep! I asked on Facebook too, and got some great responses.

I decided to look at my 2 favorite tops and see what I could find in my closet to go with each of them. That is the WHOLE POINT of Stitch Fix - to pair up a fun new piece with stuff you already have!

So in addition to the lovely jeans I wore with everything yesterday, I knew that my navy skirt would go with both tops, so that's what I went with first.
there's that sweet puppy, Dash!

I would totally wear this to church or out on a date with the hubs.

Then I took off the belt and added a fun red necklace:
Again, I can definitely see myself wearing this out.

Then I decided to get a little out of my comfort zone and try the high skirt/tucked in shirt thing...
I don't like it, but I probably did it wrong. :-p

Then I kept the skirt on and put on the other top:
I like the way the shirt flows out at the bottom and then the skirt narrows at the bottom, for a little fake hourglass action!

And then I thought - oh yeah! I have these great coral shorts that would go with the coral in this shirt!
But once they were on, it was very obvious that my coral shorts are slightly faded and REALLY pink, so no, they don't go.

So after looking back through the photos from yesterday and today, I definitely see a clear winner - the Everly Maccina Car Print Tab Sleeve Top! I'm glad I gave it another chance and wore it a few different ways, because I really like how it fits me. Oooh and maybe I can find some red capris or skinny jeans to pair with my new top. :)

Okay, are you ready to sign up for your first Fix?!
It's so much fun!

And, because this was funny, here's another photo bomb. :)

My Second "Fix" - Stitch Fix Review

I'm excited to post about my second "Fix" from Stitch Fix!! What's Stitch FixBasically, after you fill out a fun Style Profile, your personal stylist picks out 5 items specifically for you and mails them to your house! You pay $20 for a styling fee, and then that $20 goes towards any purchase you make from your Fix!

I propped my camera up with the timer set to get some pictures with me actually wearing the clothes! I've looked at a ton of blog posts about Stitch Fix, and my favorites are when they show themselves actually wearing them. :) So here goes with the awkward posing. Haha!

Here's what my personal stylist Jen sent me, 4 tops and 1 dress:

Here's the first top - Everly Maccina Car Print Tab Sleeve Top. I really liked the fit on this one - it reminded me of the top I loved from my first Fix, however, the colors weren't my favorite.

But look how cute the print is - especially for a boy-mama. :) Cars and wrenches and nuts and bolts. Cute!! (I wish the background was red or white or something different...)

The next top was the RD Style Rufus Cut-Out Button-Up Tank. I loved the bright pink color, the triangle cut outs...

...and the longer in the back style is fun. Buuuut, I really hated how it came up so high in the front, and it was one of the more expensive pieces in my Fix.

This top is the Blu Pepper sharon sleeveless sheer tank. I didn't like it right out of the box, and it didn't do much for me on, either. It's just not my style, but it did fit in my "Spring style" request with the sheer, sleeveless look.

And the last top, DownEast Olivia Leaf Print Peplum Top. I really liked this one! The first picture I took, I was all sassy and turned to the side, but then you couldn't see the cut at the bottom. So here's my awkward pose so you can see it better. :)

And here's the dress, RD Style Freddy Sleeveless Chiffon Dress. It's a very "current" style and I like that! It's brighter than this picture shows, which I also love, but it's a little too short for me. I know, I know, I'm a total prude! I just wouldn't feel comfortable out and about in it or bending over hauling all my kids around. :) The style card showed it with some leggings under it, but I'm afraid I'd have a hard time finding the perfect ones... I'm open to suggestions!

And here's the back - there's a little keyhole and button at the top - cute!

Aaaaaand we're done with the fashion show.
Time for a nap! :)

What do you think? Which ones do you like? What should I keep??

Baby Miller - Two Months

Sorry for the lack of posting lately - I've been busy with my sweet family!! I've been taking lots of pictures and videos, just not posting them - yet! Hoping to get back on track soon!

Birth: 6lbs 8oz, 19 3/4 in long
1 Month: 8lbs 10oz, 21 in long
2 Months: 10lbs 12oz, 23 in long

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!

funny angle, funny face, long legs, big feet

Here's what Miller is up to at two months:

CLOTHES & DIAPERS
  • He's now wearing 0-3 month clothes! But it's been so back and forth with the weather, I only have short sleeved stuff! So if you see him in the same outfit a bunch, it's because it's his only long sleeved outfit that will fit right now!
  • We haven't started cloth diapering him yet because I'm still waiting on my order of 9 new diapers, so I don't have to do laundry every single day with both boys in cloth! Hopefully they'll be getting here next week, and luckily I had a bunch of size 1 disposables from the "sprinkle".
EATING
  • He's still a great eater, eating about every 3 hours (just one side each time, for about 8-12 minutes), and I have finally discovered the miracle burping technique that gets him to burp every time! Whoo hoo!!
  • We are giving him Axid twice a day for reflux, AND...
  • I have been dairy free for about 5 weeks now. It started out as a REAL challenge, but with the help of some great friends who have been there and some pre-planning, it hasn't been that bad! His fussy/grumpy/grunting/crying related to gassiness is almost gone, so he is mostly a super happy baby, except...
  • He has colic. Yes, the mom who thought that it was ridiculous that EVERYONE'S kid seems to have reflux and colic... my kid has reflux and colic. Seriously? Yes. Humbling? Yes. Never say never, right? :) Anyway, he typically cries from 8-10pm every night. If Jack is already asleep, he'll sleep through it, but if he's not, he will talk and sing and holler the whole time Miller's crying. Yeesh.
SLEEPING
  • Despite the above, Miller is becoming a better nighttime sleeper. We borrowed a Nap Nanny from Emily (I know, I know, they're recalled - it's all good), and it has helped tremendously with his nighttime sleep. He still sleeps flat in the crib for daytime naps (unswaddled), and he sleeps in the NN at night (swaddled). We have been getting about 6 hour stretches for several nights in a row, THANK THE LORD!! It is wonderful to be sleeping in my own bed again! (I was sleeping in the bed in Miller's room because he was waking up every 1.5-2 hours, so it didn't make sense for me to wake up Jason every single time I got up from and got back in bed - the poor guy has to bring home the bacon around here! He needs some rest!)
AND...
  • His beautiful eyes are still bright blue!! I never dreamed I'd have a blue eyed baby!
  • Miller smiled for the first time on Easter!! It was definitely a deliberate smile, but it took several days before he really did it again. Now it's not too hard to coax one out of him! He especially loves when Big Brother sings to him. That makes him reeeeally smile!
  • He's still doing well with the "Eat Play Sleep" cycle. I have found that his "optimal waketime" right now is between 55-65 minutes. If I start the naptime routine around 55 minutes, he usually takes about 10-15 minutes to quietly put himself to sleep. If I wait until 1hr 10-15min+, then he will often cry for 30-45 minutes before ever actually falling asleep (and usually I have to rock him most of that time). So yes, I've been trying to be diligent about getting him down after 55 minutes! It's to everyone's benefit!! :)
Here's a video of Miller for his two month mirthday:

And a side-by-side of my boys at two months:

Overall, the 2 month old Miller sure is a lot happier than the 1 month old Miller! I'm so glad!! We seem to have figured out some of our issues and life is sweeter around here!

13 Goals in 2013

I found this blog post and have been INSPIRED to set 13 goals for 2013! The idea is to have a goal each month and then 1 more overarching goal for the year. I know, I know - its already April, not Jan 1! But I'm sure I can come up with goals for those months that I accomplished!

•January - work on organization projects (meal planning, freezer inventory, closet cleanout, get stuff together for yard sale)
•February - prepare for (& HAVE) baby boy (put crib together, wash clothes, baby shower)
•March - start adjusting to our "new normal" (get back to church, MOPS, Bible study, figure out how to grocery shop with 2!, etc.)
•April - go dairy free and work out 3x/ week (Miller has tummy issues, so I've been dairy free for 2 weeks already and have seen improvement; Mom and I are going to get together 3x/week and go walking, and I'm going to do the Babywearing Workout on some of our off-days)

My year-long goal is working on my Project Life scrapbook!! My awesome SIL, Vanessa got me excited about it, and I've since learned that Traci does it too!! I've REALLY enjoyed working on it so far; I will follow up with a whole post about it very soon!!

So that's where I am right now! No lengthy, lofty goals list (although I still may do it if I need to!), just 1 main goal for each month, plus keeping up with Project Life.

Anyone else need a little kick start as we head into the rest of the year?
(We're already 1/4 of the way through 2013!!)
