9 Month Review

I can't believe it, but Jason has owned the house for NINE MONTHS! In honor of that, I thought it was time to do a little before/"right now" picture show.

BEFORE

RIGHT NOW

BEFORE

RIGHT NOW

A cute art piece that I still haven't hung on the wall... but it matches the shower curtain and I just plain love it.

BEFORE

RIGHT NOW: Ahhhh... our beautiful bedroom. Easily my most favoritest room in the house. Remember when I bought bedding, saw new bedding and changed my mind, then bought it? :) I'm glad we did that...

I am in L-O-V-E with our bedroom furniture. I've said that if we could have whoever made this, make every other single piece of furniture in our house, we'd be happy campers.

That's all for now. Check back soon for a few more rooms. :)

On my Heart and Stuck in my Head

(go find it and listen to it - it's so good!)

"What Do I Know of Holy" - Addison Road
I made You promises a thousand times
I tried to hear from Heaven
But I talked the whole time
I think I made You too small
I never feared You at all No
If You touched my face would I know You?
Looked into my eyes could I behold You?

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

I guess I thought that I had figured You out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How You were mighty to save
Those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame?
And a God who gave life "its" name?
What do I know of Holy?
Of the One who the angels praise?
All creation knows Your name
On earth and heaven above
What do I know of this love?

What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

Party House

Last Saturday we had a FOOTBALL PARTY!! It was the TN-FL game (which didn't turn out as horrible as we expected...) and we invited a bunch of friends over to watch it.

Jason, Jennifer (& Eli), Becca, Keith (& Kate), Brandon, and Meagan (NEWLYWEDS!!)

Drew and Jen with little baby Eli!! He was precious the whole time!

Mike and Ashley (engaged!!)
And who can resist little Kater... man, I love this kid.

Andy & Casey got to come by for a little while too, before heading on to Andy's grandmother's birthday!

I forgot to get a picture of all the food before... obviously.

Jason and I had a really great time having everyone (almost everyone - we missed you Geyers!) over at our house and can't wait to do it again soon!

200th Post - Time for a Change

Most of you have been with me for a while... (on the blog, that is) Remember when my profile quote said "join me as I ramble about my ever-changing life" - well, boy oh boy, has that been true!!

Back at the beginning of the year - pre-engagement, chomping at the bit for Mr. Lawhorn to get his act together. :) Love you, babe.

This is what my blog header looked like then!
Then, of course, who could forget the ENGAGEMENT period!?!? The amazing pictures below (okay I'm biased) from Becca and Keith Rocha, were just... ah-mazing.

So this has been my header since March/April.

Now, my friends - it's time for a change, which I'm sure you noticed as soon as you logged on. No, I'm not going to change the title (which may need explanation anyway... Gooey was a CVP nickname b/c of Guin) but I definitely wanted to update the header with all the fabulous pictures from our wedding, courtesy of JESSICA POWER PHOTOGRAPHY!!! :) She's amazing.

So there you have it! My 200th(!!) post marking the beginning of my NEW LIFE!! :)

Every once in a while, I forget.

On Saturday night after the game, we went out to dinner with Jason's parents, Jessica (sister) and Sarah (Jessica's friend) to Stir Fry in Knoxville. The food was yummy and we had a great time, but here's the story:

I realize it's getting late, start look through my purse for my phone and then freeze -- then I'm laughing out loud, and Patricia says "What?" And I say, "I was just looking for the phone to let my parents know I was going to be out late."

Every once in a while, I forget... I'm MARRIED! :)

...You'll Always Be, Home Sweet Home to ME!

I was so glad to be feeling better, because the Hubs and I went to the TN game on Saturday.

Here's Coach Kiffin (if you can even tell it's him!) at the Vol Walk.

...and some of the players...

...and the band! The Vol Walk is always fun, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!

We got tickets from my in-laws neighbors so we sat in a different spot than we're used to - the endzone!

Even though the outcome wasn't what we were hoping for, we had a blast at our FIRST MARRIED FOOTBALL GAME!! :)

Thursday Night Special

Last night Forrest and Alex stopped by to see the house! We were planning on making homemade ice cream this week, so it was the perfect time to try out our new ice cream maker (thank you Emraths!)

Mr. Chef doing all the work - hey, I had just made dinner... oh yeah, and he was REALLY pumped about ice cream. :)

The basic vanilla recipe that came in the instruction booklet.

Let's crank this baby up! 20-25 minutes later, the ice cream was ready so we put it in the freezer until the Walkers got to the house.

As Jason finishes a bite (haha) everyone digs in on the yummy ice cream and cookies.

It was great to see Forrest and Alex, catch up, and enjoy some yummy dessert! (P.S. aren't the Tervis cups sooooooo cute?! Thank you Lane family!)

A Rack for Baking

I've been on the lookout for a baker's rack since before the wedding. Basically just something to hold our microwave because it was taking up half of our counter top space (pretend there is a before picture here).

I found one on Craigslist that I liked that was close by, but the people selling it were moving, I was umm.. getting married, and basically our schedules didn't line up. So just when I thought all hope was lost, she emailed me to say that she had given my contact info to her neighbor if I was still interested. Yes, please! So Rachel and I went at lunch to look at it and I bought it!

Doing its job well, if I may say so.

Rice, pasta, and oatmeal!! How cute (and useful)! Mom gave me those containers ($6 at Marshall's I think) and Mamaw gave Jason and I this aloe plant! The cookbook is How to Boil Water and it and the stand came from the Drayers (Kelly was our wedding coordinator).

Coffee maker (although not convenient to actually use...), toaster oven, recipe book (from Mom) and the lovely giant microwave.

Something needed to go in the baskets, so at least for now, it's dish towels. Don't judge me because the tags are still on them. :) The ADORABLE Spode bowl was a wedding gift and it's holding snacks - popcorn, granola bars, poptarts, and pb crackers!

I'm so glad we found this!!

"The best ones weren't on the list..."

Emily and I went yard sale-ing this weekend! She texted me Saturday morning and said, "let's go - I'm on my way" or something like that, and before I knew it she was in my driveway. :)

We got all gussied up (just kidding, we looked like "camp") and went on our way. She had a list of sales from Craigslist, but most of those didn't turn out so well.

On our accidental wrong turn, we found a yard sale selling THIS RUG!

It was TEN DOLLARS!!!!!!! Whoo hoo! So cute. And works perfectly in the kitchen. :) I was a very happy camper. Em got a cute shirt and pair of shoes from the same place (b/c they had designer stuff!) and we went on our way. All other efforts to garage sale were lame.

Then we went to Hobby Lobby.

And I spent a small fortune.

This has nothing to do with HobLob, it's just a super cute tray we got for a wedding present that says LAWHORN on it! It now, obviously, houses remotes of all kind.
Friends, my house is on its way to being decorated.
